Walk through the villa of a millionaire family like kings and queens did in the 16th through 18th centuries (the Age of Exploration and Science!), and meet the personalities that made these centuries rock!
Beginning with an introduction to the Borghese family, then on to baroque with Caravaggio and Bernini (one, a murderer - the other, only attempted); then into the late 1700's with Napoleons' sister, whose life makes for a very racy novel!
This is the real "lives of the rich and famous". Besides the 'behind the scenes' look at the artists and their times, we will compare the work and style of Michelangelo with Bernini and Antonio Canova; clear up confusion regarding the dates of several Caravaggio/Bernini works; and, compare the painting styles of the Florentine (Perugino, Raphael, Botticelli) and Venetian schools as we admire Titians' most famous painting, "Sacred and Profane Love". A spell-binding tour that will leave you enriched!
