A cinquant’anni dall’enciclica Divino afflante Spiritu di Pio XII, e a un secolo dalla Providentissimus Deus di Leone XII, si sono voluti raccogliere in un unico volume i testi originali e la traduzione italiana degli interventi del magistero sugli studi biblici e sulla Scrittura in generale. La serie di testi raccolti si apre con il Frammento Muratoriano del II secolo, che contiene il primo canone dei libri compresi nella Bibbia cristiana, per giungere sino alle ultime indicazioni contenute nel “Codice dei canoni delle chiese orientali”.
One of the reasons I came to Rome was to get this book, because we simply can’t get it in the ‘States. Yes, the documents are translated into Italian, but so what? There is usually an English version on the internet. The point is, you have all the official documents of the Church, according to them, in 1 volume. The documents that aren’t translated (I think about 35) were local council issues.
And of course, I found one that is missing from this volume, but it’s in Denzinger, 33. So, I added it. No big deal, just the Canon from the year 382.
You don’t find any used copies available on the internet for this, and there’s a reason – no one ever sells it.
